Cross St Mark’s Square and breathe in the atmosphere – alive with the sounds of musicians and banter coming from the cafe terraces. Marvel at St Mark’s Basilica with its ornate domed exterior and opulent gold and mosaic interior. Then continue on to the Doge’s Palace with its intricate lace like facade and sumptuous interior with frescos by Tintoretto and Veronese.
