Montenegro - Visit the best

Join a trip along the seductive South Adriatic coast to the tiny country of Montenegro, a place of great natural beauty and immense cultural heritage. Still unspoilt by mass tourism, Montenegro offers some stunning scenery ranging from high rugged mountains in the north to picturesque coastal areas in the south. Admire the Montenegrin fjord in all its majestic beauty. This Nordic look alike is surrounded by imposing grey-white mountains which envelope the fjord and is reflected in the crystalline waters of the bay. Tiny islands are dotted here and there and the whole place has a very magical and romantic air to it. Stop in Perast, a pretty little baroque town on the coast to visit the small island of Our Lady of Skrpjela and its 17th century church. The church is famous for 68 stunning frescos painted by Tripo Kokolja, a Baroque master. Next we visit the ancient town of Kotor classed by many as the Mediterranean’s medieval pearl. Its location in the Gulf of Kotor is exquisite enough, but the town located within the Venetian walls is absolutely breathtaking. Explore the famous St Tripuna Cathedral and investigate the Maritime Museum of Kotor where you can view valuable exhibits of old traditions. We leave Montenegro on a high with a visit to Budva followed by a short ferry crossing over the Bay of Boka in all its striking glory. Perhaps Europe’s prettiest natural harbour, be sure to take as many photos as you can and breath in the truly romantic atmosphere before heading back to Dubrovnik.
