Spirit of the Sea

Get closer than ever to whales and dolphins with a catamaran tour off the coast of Gran Canaria.

HIGHLIGHTS:

* Almost guaranteed sightings, with a free return ticket if not

* See the ocean floor in a specially equipped catamaran with glass bottom

Whales and dolphins are a common sight in the waters around Gran Canaria and getting up close to these beautiful animals as they skim through the waves is an unforgettable experience for all ages. We set sail from the port of Puerto Rico along the southwestern coast of the island in search of dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. Our friendly multi-lingual crew will keep you up to date with the sightings, helping you to identify the different species.

Spirit of the sea is a purpose-built catamaran with a capacity for 97 passengers. It has also been equipped with a large glass bottom in both keels giving you the opportunity to experience life below the ocean wave. As the waters around the Canary Islands are not heavily fished, there is a great diversity of cetaceans including pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins as well as other sea creatures, such as green turtles and flying fish.

You can choose between two and three hour trips. During the three hour trip we stop at a sheltered bay for a swim. We are almost certain to sight dolphins, but should this not be the case, all passengers will be given a free ticket to come back for another trip whenever they want. The ticket price also includes unlimited soft drinks.
